Delta Mining Receives Positive Preliminary Magnetometer News on Its Delcer Buttes Gold/Copper Property

LEWISBURG, KY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/01/10 -- Delta Mining & Exploration (PINKSHEETS: DMXC) today announced promising preliminary geophysics news on the Delcer Buttes gold/copper property in Elko County, NV.

Gradient Geophysics, Inc. reports that a partial survey completed with a high-resolution magnetometer shows "...several significant responses. These responses are anomalies due to rocks that contain abundant magnetite, characteristically associated with copper-gold in this geologic setting. The Delcer Buttes anomalies highlight a large area which extends northeast to southwest."

Though initially stated as complete, additional data needs to be compiled to finalize the survey due to weather and ground conditions. Gradient managed to survey the entire property, but was only able to pull data from roughly two-thirds of the property.

It is anticipated that field conditions will improve later this month so that the remainder of the survey will be completed and the Induced Polarization ("IP") survey will commence. Gradient will provide the Company with a color contour map and an interpretive report prior to initiating an IP survey. The final report and map will be made available be made to public via the Company's website.

Gradient is surveying with the GEM system, Overhauser continuous reading magnetometers. This unit

collects data every 0.2 to 2.0 seconds with a combined GPS that stores both the magnetometer and locations in the field.

Gradient has been on the forefront of geophysical data surveying and interpretation for mineral exploration for many years. Responsible for over 600 projects throughout the Americas, Gradient has worked extensively in the mining sector, conducting large-scale geophysical programs for major mining companies such as Rio Tinto, BHP, Newmont and Barrick and for many junior exploration companies. Gradient focuses on high-resolution magnetometer and high-powered IP data collection using robust computer modeling methods for advanced interpretation of mineral deposits.
